Ideocell provides technical and business services to a variety of commercial enterprises. Examples of engagements include:

Naval Engineering Services

Ideocell provided services to design and develop a program to gather data for every aspect of the vessel (size, hull sections, … all the ship’s components) and then builds a 3D model to assist in providing analysis of loading, stability, and stress measurements.

Medical Applications

Ideocell has provided technical and management services to develop customized applications integrating off-the-shelf forms management systems to create more efficient workflow processes, eliminate paper forms and seamlessly transfer information throughout hospitals in real-time.

Telecommunications

Ideocell played an integral role in building a Billing Assurance application that analyzes carrier billing between telephone companies. The analysis was performed using use cases and analysis modeling documented in Rational Rose. This Billing Assurance application allows the telecommunications firm to locate missed billing opportunities and has resulted in increased revenue generation.

Another telecommunications tool that Ideocell built is called the Bypass Finder tool.
This tool allows for the processing of 40 million interconnect call detail records (CDRs) per day to identify the number of Competitive Local Exchange Carrier (CLEC) single line stations and hunt group members that are in service. The tool tracks gains and losses of single line stations, hunt groups, and hunt group members monthly for each CLEC operating in a specific geographic area. The application uses Torrent Orchestrate for ETL and data analysis on a HP N class computer. An IIS web server is used for display and reporting. Oracle is used for data storage.

Process Control Systems

Ideocell developed the system architecture for an ISA/S88 based batch control system. A CORBA compliant ORB and the ObjectStore object database were used to create a distributed, heterogeneous (NT/Solaris) solution. We investigated n-tier distributed component architectures utilizing Microsoft DCOM and/or CORBA for the next generation batch control system and developed the batch management and system services components. Ideocell coded the application implementing MFC, Objectivity & ObjectStore Databases, and CORBA. We were also responsible for creating the GUI, background, and NT Service Applications.

A key element of this offering was for Ideocell to appraise the software development process in existence at this firm using the Capability Maturity Model (CMM) guidelines. Based on our findings and suggestions, we then participated in the implementation of these process improvement initiatives.
